Tropic Thunder thoughts

There are so many excellent posts on blogs concerning Tropic Thunder, but two people that have really affected me are Chris and Nick. I hope you'll pop over and have a chat with them. Nick said he has treats.

Good Search

I recently found a very cool, and easy, way to raise money for your favorite charity. Instead of using Google (which I use religiously) or Yahoo as your primary search engine, use goodsearch.com and they will donate to the charity of your choice (I'm supporting our local DS organization) based on the number of searches you do. I'll bet I can raise at least 5 - 7 cents a day based on how much work I do online. (That's over $200 a year). You can raise even more if you shop through their goodshop.com, which has links to most online stores like Amazon and Target.

Indie coffee shops

We usually spend Sunday mornings at a coffee shop; either the Turtle Bread or the French Meadow. If you're tired of Starbucks, I found a cool little website that maps out all the indie coffee shops nearby; it works in almost any US city.

Inspire me

I stumbled across this website recently. "A weekly dose of inspiration to be creative, try new techniques and explore new mediums. We challenge all artists to get out their art supplies, experiment and CREATE!"

Narrow Ridge website

I updated my Narrow Ridge website.

Foul mood

I have been in a really foul mood since returning to work. So has everyone else here in the office. (I don't think it's because of my return, but I could be wrong) Clients complaining, boss yelling, projects cluttering my desktop. It's the week from post-production hell.

If you've visited my Narrow Ridge website, you know that I've been trying to do some projects of my own on the side. To raise money for them, I'm taking on a freelance project; I met with a board member of the MacLaurin Institute, a Christian thinktank on the University of Minnesota campus. They need a promo video to celebrate their 25th anniversary. I should clear a nice chunk of change from the project, if I get it.
