Hospital - Day 3

Silvi and I rang in the new year by falling asleep in my bed around 9:30. Annie spent the night at the hospital again. Ian was doing much better yesterday and they were able to turn his oxygen dependency from one hundred percent down to fifty percent. But I guess they had to turn it back up to a hundred percent last night again. Sigh.

So we wait. Happy New Year? I'll let you know in a few days...

We ended up doing a sleep study with Caleb because of his last hospital stay. His oxygen sats always dipped when he was sleeping. I think there is a vast, right-wing conspiracy to keep us going to doctors and hospitals.

There's alot of yo-yoing with the nebuliser and oxygen line and what have you, but give the man time and he'll start to beat the bug. If you're like I was at all you'll now see lines and tubes not as invasive and horrible but a Godsend. I don't think that there'd ever be enough money to pay our woefully underpaid healthcare pros. I wonder is that the same for you guys?

Ugh. So sorry to read these updates. Here's hoping Ian is feeling better soon and 2009 goes better.

I pray he overcomes this soon. It's rough to see our little one's hooked up - I pray for you and Annie, and Silvi too.

Praying for you all. Your little guy has already shown you what a fighter he is. He will beat this and be home where he should be soon. That said, it is never easy seeing our kids hooked up and hospitalized. Stay strong! It will be a Happy New Year--the happiness is just a little delayed; fear not, it will come in blazes.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ian's current struggle. Like our little guys haven't been through enough! Micah spent 12 days in the hospital back in early October for what eventually was diagnosed as a GI virus. His intestines completely shut down. Yikes! I'm sorry that Ian is ringing in the new year in the hospital. You should be able to start 2009 with a clean slate, not with a baby in the hospital. We'll be praying for all of you.
