I'm a quitter

Only a few days into the month and I'm already bailing on the NaBloPoMo exercise in writing.

I hate doing things because I have to.

And I'm not big on group activities. At parties you'll find me on the outer edges, either talking with a few friends or just sitting alone, enjoying people watching.

Plus I've got a bad case of the pre-winter blues; I'm sure no one wants to read about how long I stare at the screen without knowing what to say. If you do, here you go:

I've been meaning to paint my cabinets; I'll call you when the paint begins to dry. I'm sure you'll enjoy the show.

Definitely with you Tom.
I'll be in the back of the room with you as our awards are given out too. Just put together a male rite of passage program with live rock and roll concert video juxtaposed with wisdom text. But I don't feel like showing it to the men it was intended. maybe the blues?

You may be a quitter but I'm a world class under-achiever. :)
And joiners are never as fun.
The blank screen? Seriously, your humor is often times the favorite part of me day.
As for feeling pre-winter blues, may you be gentle with yourself. You guys have just been through a LOT. Once the adrenaline slows down and your just left with day after day of this new life, depression sounds pretty reasonable. Not fun. But there is so much to digest and how could you not have some heartburn right now?
Write when you can, want, feel the urge. I will always be appreciate when you do. And I'll be thinking of you guys, when you take needed absences.

Oh I hear you! I thought about doing the NoBloPoMo thing, but remembered how tough it was doing the 31 for 21 thing! UGH! I did skip a few days, especially the last week. It was TOUGH! And I'm sure people got sick of my obvious ramblings about nothing! BUT..I'm still trying to stay in that "Blog for a year" contest so I can win that big blogging contract. There are also days where I blog in spurts. Maybe those are the days I've had more than 3 bottles of Mountain Dew and so my mind is going a hundred miles an hour, making me think of things I MUST tell SOMEONE! LOL

I should take a lesson from you. But no, I just strip down and let the world see all my warts. Sigh.....

Totally understand what you mean, both about hating doing things because you have to, and that thing about winter.

I hate winter!! Sweden is crazy this time of the year. Everybody's depressed, no one wants to leave the house. And it's all because of the lack of light.

I'm trying to solve it with some light therapy, it actually works. You should try it :)

Brett: I'll be perusing YouTube, looking for that video, man. Really. I hope to see it there one day. Great hearing from you.

Isabel: Appreciate the reminder to take it easy on myself... It definitely is kind of hitting now that Ian is out of immediate danger. And glad I can bring a smile with my ultra corny way of seeing life.

Leah: I think I need some of your Mountain Dew... I admire your for sticking in there last month, even with the missed days.

Tricia: Every time I strip down in public I get arrested...

Oh, I see, you were talking figuratively. My bad.

GIGBS: I nearly broke down and got some sunlights when I lived in Seattle; not a bad idea at all. Thanks!

Me too!! I started out thinking "oh this won't be so bad" and then I remembered how much I hate having to do something on a schedule, because it's required. I spent 2 years in treatment for cancer doing things on schedule and was happy to do that. Other than that? Screw it. Life's too short and what's the point at the end of it anyway?!?!?! My time is worth so much more...and I quite enjoy watching paint dry. I'll take that over "having" to post something that means nothing every day!!

Oh yeah! Let's join a community thang and feel a part of the bigger world! It'll take me out myself and help me connect with other people. we'll all be having a great laugh, struggling to think of something to say. It'll be cool! I'll be one of the gang...

... you know I hated f****** gangs and all that being part of the in crowd. Now I'm writing not because I want to but because I feel obliged...

...Bollocks...

It's OK Tom, I know how you feel :)

Sherry: After your experiences I would throw all schedules out the window. :)

I don't even wear a watch. Don't know why I thought I should try to fit into a writing regimen. Thanks for popping over.

Kim: You would have put a damper on the "We Are The World" recording session.
